For almost any injury or ailment, it is the answer. Its germ-fighting power has been shown in clinical studies and it can treat cuts, minor burns, athlete’s foot and insect bites. It also helps with all kinds of bacterial and fungal infections, and even headlice and eczema.

Tea Tree oil For Your Body
Cuts and wounds
If you have a fresh cut or wound, it can prevent infections and reduce the risk of scarring. Place the affected area under running water for 3–5 minutes and gently wash with soap.
Next, mix
- 1 teaspoon of tea tree oil
- half a cup of fresh water
Soak a cotton ball or paper towel in the solution and gently dab the wound. Repeat twice a day until the wound closes.
Athlete’s foot
Relieve the burning, itching, inflammation and scaling from Athlete’s foot
Add a few drops of Tea Tree oil to a tablespoon of witch hazel. Dab onto the affected area with a cotton swab three times a day.
Dry cuticles
If your cuticles are cracked and peeling, blend:
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 10 drops Tea Tree oil
- 10 drops Lavender oil
Shake the bottle well, then massage a few drops into your nails and cuticles daily to soften them and prevent splitting.
Yeast infection
Lavender oil make a potent blend for treating yeast infections.
Mix:
- 5 drops Tea Tree oil
- 5 drops Lavender oil
- 10 ml coconut oil
Use a cotton swab and dab the blend onto problem areas.
Dandruff
For an itchy, flaky scalp, you don’t need to buy a special shampoo. Add few drops to your shampoo and massage it into your scalp for shiny, healthy hair. It inhibits the growth of the yeast, Pityrosporum ovale, that’s responsible for dandruff.
Acne
If you’re struggling with pimples, its anti-inflammatory and antiseptic benefits are perfect. Dilute 10 drops in 5ml jojoba oil and apply to your skin 1–2 times a day with cotton swab. Avoid the sun when you apply .
Sleep quality
If it’s hard to get to sleep, place 1–2 drops on your pillow.
Colds and coughs
For blocked noses and a heavy, congested chest, Tea Tree oil helps to loosen mucus. Place a couple of drops in a bowl of very hot water, put a towel over your head and inhale the aromatic vapour for 10 minutes.
Gargling with 6 drops in a glass of warm water can soothe sore throats.
You can also inhale to clear up a sinus infection.

Increase confidence
Rub 2–3 drops in your cupped palms and inhale deeply. You can also rub on your feet, temples or wrists.

Use in a diffuser activates the brain’s parasympathetic nervous system, encouraging the body and brain to relax.

Mould and odours
As a disinfecting air spray, it is a natural, anti-microbial, non-toxic air freshener that deals with bacteria, viruses, and mould. Combined with Lemon Essential Oil, this spray can freshen the room and eliminate odours trapped in shoes and sports gear. In a spritzer bottle, mix:
- 20 drops Tea Tree Oil
- 10 drops Lemon Oil
- 2 cups water
Laundry odour
In humid climates, sometimes your laundry has an unpleasant smell from microbes building up in the washing machine. To remove this smell, add to your laundry detergent:
- 5 dropsTea Tree oil
- 5 drops Lavender oil
Natural surface cleaner
To clean kitchen and bathroom surfaces, mix:
- 8–10 drops
- 8–10 drops Lemon oil
- ½ cup vinegar
- 2 cups water
This solution should not be used on granite or marble, as vinegar is acidic and may erode the stone.
