For Your Body
Bloating and wind
For indigestion after a meal:
- mix 1 drop with a little honey in a glass
- add ½ cup (125ml) warm water
- stir and drink.
Don’t be surprised if you immediately burp! The same treatment eases nausea or vomiting caused by food or travel sickness.
Acne
Use two or three drops in a facial steam. This cleanses congested skin and kills bacteria.
Menstrual cramps
Massage a few drops into your lower abdomen to relieve pain and combat the spasms that cause cramps.
Colds and flu
To a hot bath, add:
- 3 drops
- 2 drops Eucalyptus oil
- 4 drops Lavender oil
- 1 teaspoon vegetable oil
This will speed up your recovery. If you also drink a cup of peppermint and lemon tea while in the bath, this encourages perspiration and works to kill viruses and bacteria even faster.
Tired feet and legs
If you’ve been on your feet too much, use a few drops in water to create a spray to apply to the legs and feet. Let it dry naturally on the skin without rubbing it in.
Headache
Create a blend of:
- 10–12 drops
- 5 drops Rosemary oil
- 30ml almond oil
Rub this on the back of your neck. Keep it away from your eyes.
Fever
To bring down a fever naturally, especially in children, mix:
- 5-8 drops
- 1 tablespoon coconut oil
Rub on your child’s neck and the bottoms of their feet. This can help lower a fever instead of using aspirin or other drugs.
Vertigo and dizziness
Vertigo or dizziness can occur when there is an imbalance in the inner ear caused by an ear infection or stress. Apply a cold compress to the forehead, or inhale the oil directly to relieve symptoms and calm the nervous system.
Swelling
Dab 3–4 drops on sprains or bruises to prevent swelling. For best results, add a few drops to an icepack.
Tick remover
Found a tick burrowing into your skin? Put 1 drop of Peppermint oil directly on the tick and wait a few minutes. The tick will fall off easily.

Peppermint oil acts as a mental stimulant, promoting concentration and clarity. It rouses and revitalises the mind and encourages positivity. Use it to overcome boredom or a sense of numbness. It is usually better for daytime use, rather than before bed, because of its invigorating properties.

- 5 drops Peppermint oil
- 10 drops Lavender oil

Diffuse a few drops of Peppermint oil when you’re juggling too many things and need to focus. Take a few long, deep inhales and exhales.
