10 ways to use organic Rosehip oil
Anti-ageing
Use Rosehip oil on your neck as a smoothening treatment. The neck has no natural moisture and tends to look dull and prematurely aged. Rosehip oil will help your neck remain soft and radiant.
Eczema and psoriasis
Being an anti-inflammatory, you can use Rosehip oil on affected areas to relieve itchiness.
Cracked, dry heels
Use a cotton pad to rub Rosehip oil into your feet and heels, then apply a thicker moisturiser on the same area. This treatment is wonderfully effective!
Skin moisturiser
Apply 2–3 drops of Rosehip oil to boost moisture levels in the skin. It has a very high concentration of essential fatty acids, so if you have oily skin, try it on a small area of skin first to make sure it doesn’t clog your pores.
Scars
For wound or cuts, apply Rosehip oil generously to prevent scars from forming. You can also use it on scars to reduce their appearance.
Blemishes and marks
Two or three drops of Rosehip oil will reduce the appearance of skin blemishes and hyperpigmentation.
Brittle nails
If your nails are damaged or weak, apply 1–2 drops of Rosehip oil and massage into the cuticles. This will strengthen your nails, especially if you use nail polish frequently.
Baggy eyes
To refresh and tighten the skin around the eyes, create a blend of:
5ml Rosehip oil
5ml Aloe vera gel
5 drops Lavender oil
3 drops Lemon oil
Combine ingredients in a spray bottle and shake well. At night, remove your makeup and cleanse your face. Spray the blend around your eyes, keeping your eyes closed. Gently massage around and under the eyes.
Shiny Hair
For soft, shiny hair, put 2–3 drops of Rosehip oil in the palms of your hands, rub together and apply to wet hair. Add more if needed.
Healthy scalp
Use Rosehip oil as part of a scalp massage to alleviate dandruff and to treat hair that has been damaged by dyeing or chemicals.
Rosehip oil contains a bounty of skin-rejuvenating ingredients: linoleic, alpha-linolenic, and oleic acids, as well as tocopherol and carotenoids. Dermatologists have found that these are superstar anti-inflammatory and antioxidant ingredients to soothe and heal stressed skin.
What ingredients are in organic Rosehip oil?
Rosehip oil is rich in:
Vitamin C
Rosehips may also contain more vitamin C than an orange or lemon. This magical vitamin may reduce ultraviolet light damage caused by free radicals. Vitamin C also increases wound healing, prevents dry skin and supports collagen production, keeping wrinkles at bay.
Vitamin F
Polyunsaturated fatty acids (vitamin F) are excellent for skincare because they help to regenerate cellular membranes and tissue.
Beta-carotene
A form of Vitamin A, beta-carotene increases cell turnover, repairs skin damage and prevents scars and wrinkles from forming.
Cautions
Do a skin patch test before using. Leave the oil on a small patch of skin on your arm or neck for 24 hours. If no rash occurs, you’re less likely to be allergic. If you experience irritation, rinse thoroughly and do not use again.
Keep out of reach of children
If sensitivity occurs, discontinue use.
Avoid contact with eyes and sensitive areas of the body.
